‘Sheltered’ is an inverted and enlarged version of a pencil drawing made in 2020. Part of a series of drawings based upon recently commodified ancient weapons, the work originated from found images that were subsequently manipulated and recomposed to conceal or disprove their authenticity.
By using A.I. software to increase the resolution of the image, the drawing’s texture has been completely reimagined - adding an additional layer of misdirection to the work.

Liam Allan (b.1987, Dunfermline, Scotland) studied at Edinburgh College of Art and The Glasgow School of Art. He lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.
